The Ranger

Overview
The Ranger is Unyha's master of the wild — a ranged fighter and beast-tamer who fights alongside animal companions and lives off the land. The most self-sufficient and versatile of the three classes.
Skills
Archery — ranged weaponry; the Ranger's main way of dealing damage from a safe distance (see Weapons & Armor).
Taming — befriending and commanding wild beasts — and, uniquely among all classes, controlling more than one at a time (see Taming).
Huntercraft — the woodcraft of tracking and survival, including the campfire that regenerates health for pets and allies; the skill that keeps a Ranger in the field.
Strengths and Weaknesses
The Ranger's edge is unmatched pet control — where other classes manage a single companion, a Ranger fields a whole pack (see Taming) — backed by leather armor that protects without sacrificing mobility. In exchange they cannot wear plate, leaving them more exposed than a Warrior in melee, and they deal reduced magical damage; the Ranger is no spellcaster.
Leveling the Ranger
Each class level sharpens the two things a Ranger lives on: archery damage rises, and the number of beasts they can command grows with them (see Taming). A low Ranger is a capable shot with a single companion; a high Ranger is a deadeye at the head of a pack. What leveling never grants is heavy protection — even fully specced, a Ranger cannot wear plate, staying in the leather that keeps them fast.
Playstyle
Flexible and independent. From range, with pets holding the front and a campfire topping everyone up, a Ranger can take on fights well above their apparent weight — which makes them arguably the strongest solo class. In a party they sustain the group and add bodies to the line (see Party Play).
In Short
Never alone. Bow, beasts, and bushcraft make the Ranger the great survivor of the three.
